Dominga inherited the ceramic work of her mother and grandmother who mastered the traditional technique of mapuche pottery. The command of the traditional technique and variety and quality of the ceramic types she elaborates has made her worthy of the award as Living Human Treasure in 2011.
Currently she lives with her daughter Mirta Chamorro in the community of Roble Huacho where she has her house and workshop.
Dominga Neculmán received the Lorenzo Berg award as best national artisan in 1986.
