Resumen: |
Hand-modeled clay figure representing a religious building. It has a flat base with four legs and three bays equivalent to porticos, one for the main chapel and two for the base of each side tower. On the top of the chapel there is a figure with a staff. The towers have four levels and they have a cross at the top just like the main chapel. Inside the towers there are some praying figures.
Edita Alarcón is from Pilén, a town near Cauquenes in Región del Maule, she was an artisan who cultivated the work of the traditional handmade pottery. Her work is made up of unique pieces, for her technique allows each work to be a single piece or art. In Pilén pottery has been developed by a number of women who maintain this trade alive. And the Loceras de Pilen community was recognized as Living Human Treasure by the CNCA in 2012.
