Olla Colorera
|
Autor: | Salinas, Olga; |
Resumen: |
Globular shaped container, with a smaller base that grows and then gets smaller to become a short neck with a circular opening on the end. It has a handle on each side of the neck.
Between the 17th and 19th Centuries, with the indigenous towns formed in the Central zone, there are new demands from the farming production and dwelling. With regard to the old indigenous utensils used to make and conserve food, new forms appear. This pot was used to make and keep "la color", a typical Chilean food seasoning made up of grease and paprika.
Olga Salinas was born in Pomaire in 1908, she is well recognized as one of the oldest potters, and her work was made up by utilitarian fine pieces.
