Resumen: |
It consists of a zoomorphic moneybox representing a young goat and its offspring. A major ovoid body figure that has a smaller animal on its back can be appreciated. The polished black surface has concise floral white decorations on the side of the figure. The name of the artisan is also included: Victorina Gallegos.
Victorina integrates the Unión de Artesanos Quinchamalí (Quinchamalí Artisans Union) together with other 25 people, who create, with great skill, a great variety of black ceramic pieces with flower decorations engraved through incisions on the surface and finished with white color. Among the wide range of their production we can find decorative pieces such as mangers, turkeys and other animals, as well as utilitarian pieces such as mates, pots, plates and a series of containers with zoomorphic forms. In 2014, they were nominated as Tesoro Humano Vivo (Living Human Treasure), an award given by the CNCA (National Council of Culture and the Arts) as a valuable testimony of immaterial heritage.
